STANDARD ("we," "us," "our"), operated by iowire.com, is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect your personal information when you use our music review platform at standard.iowire.com.

2. Information We Collect

Information You Provide

  • Account information: Email address, display name, password (if using email registration)
  • Profile information: Artist/band name, primary genre, Instagram handle, avatar, bio, location
  • Music submissions: Song files (MP3/WAV), song titles, links to streaming platforms (YouTube, Spotify, SoundCloud, Apple Music)
  • Payment information: Processed securely by Stripe. We do not store your full credit card number.
  • Order messages: Messages exchanged between buyers and providers during marketplace transactions
  • Deliverable files: Files uploaded by providers as part of marketplace service delivery
  • Communications: Feedback, support requests, ethics reports

Information from Third-Party Login

If you sign in using a third-party provider (Google, TikTok, Facebook, X, or Apple), we receive:

  • Google: Name, email address, profile picture
  • TikTok: Display name, avatar (TikTok does not share your email)
  • Facebook: Name, email address, profile picture
  • X (Twitter): Name, username, profile picture
  • Apple: Name, email address (may be a private relay address)

We only request the minimum information needed to create your account. We do not post to your social media accounts, access your followers, or read your messages.

Information Collected Automatically

  • Usage data: Pages visited, features used, session duration
  • Device information: Browser type, operating system, screen size
  • IP address: Used for security (rate limiting, fraud prevention) and approximate location
  • Cookies: Session cookies for authentication (see Section 7)

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Provide the service: Process submissions, facilitate reviews, manage your account
  • Process payments: Handle review fees and reviewer payouts via Stripe
  • Communicate: Send review notifications, feedback alerts, and essential account emails
  • Improve the platform: Analyze usage patterns to improve features and fix bugs
  • Ensure security: Detect fraud, prevent abuse, enforce rate limits
  • Enforce policies: Investigate ethics complaints and enforce our terms

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your data for advertising. We do not share your music with anyone outside the review process.

4. Information Sharing

We share your information only in these limited circumstances:

  • With reviewers: Your artist name, song, and submission details are shared with the reviewer you select. Your email is never shared with reviewers.
  • During live sessions: Your artist name and song title may be visible to other users watching a live review session.
  • Marketplace orders: Order messages, deliverable files, and transaction details are shared between the buyer, provider, and coordinator (if applicable) involved in the order. During disputes, this information may also be shared with platform administrators.
  • Payment processors: Stripe processes payments on our behalf and has its own privacy policy.
  • Service providers: We use Amazon Web Services (AWS) for hosting and file storage, and Sentry for error tracking.
  • Legal requirements: If required by law, subpoena, or legal process.
  • Safety: If necessary to protect the rights, safety, or property of our users or the public.

5. Data Retention

  • Account data: Retained while your account is active. You can request deletion at any time.
  • Music files: Uploaded files are retained while your account is active. Deleted upon account deletion.
  • Marketplace data: Order messages, deliverables, and transaction records are retained for the lifetime of the order plus 7 years (financial regulations). Dispute records are retained permanently for platform safety.
  • Payment records: Retained for 7 years as required by financial regulations.
  • Audit logs: Security logs are retained for 90 days.
  • Guest submissions: Guest data is retained for 1 year. If you later create an account with the same email, guest submissions are linked to your account.

6. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

  • Access: Request a copy of your personal data
  • Correction: Update inaccurate information
  • Deletion: Request deletion of your account and associated data
  • Export: Receive your data in a portable format
  • Withdraw consent: Unlink third-party login providers at any time
  • Object: Opt out of non-essential data processing

7. Cookies

STANDARD uses only essential cookies required for the platform to function:

  • Session cookie: Keeps you logged in. HttpOnly, Secure, SameSite=Lax. Expires after 24 hours of inactivity.
  • CSRF token: Prevents cross-site request forgery attacks.

We do not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or third-party analytics cookies.

8. Security

We take security seriously and implement industry-standard measures:

  • Passwords are hashed using Argon2id (not stored in plain text)
  • All data transmitted over HTTPS/TLS encryption
  • Rate limiting on login and registration to prevent brute-force attacks
  • Session fixation prevention and secure cookie flags
  • Input sanitization and CSRF protection on all forms
  • Regular security audits and audit logging

9. Children's Privacy

STANDARD is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

10. International Users

STANDARD is operated from the United States. If you access the platform from outside the US, your information may be transferred to and processed in the US. By using STANDARD, you consent to this transfer.

For users in the European Economic Area (EEA), we process your data based on legitimate interest (providing the service you requested) and consent (for optional features like social login).

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or a prominent notice on the platform. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates when the policy was last revised.
